We arrive at Sanfron, starting point for the Monte Bracco walls. And now? Book on hand, we are caught by a scearing behaviour. In the first page of the book there are more than 30 sectors! Where are we going? We don't have a week but only two days for climbing. The decision is to go by guess in the hope to find good sectors and we have really climbed in two very nice places. Monte Bracco is a very peaceful valley in a very nice environment with a very wide view on Monviso. Due to the number of the sectors we'll describe only those we have visited. Along Monte Bracco the paths are everywhere and for those that like biking Bracco has a lot to offer. Points of vacation In Sanfront you can find everything you need for a good vacation in this valley. Near the park the "casa nuova" there is a good starting point for all the walls, and here you can find rooms, food and the guide. Free camping is not forbidden, but pay attention to where you place your tent. | Access From the motorway Torino-Cuneo you arrive in Saluzzo (56 km. far from Torino). Follow the signs to Santfront. Pass the petrol station and turn right into a little road following Mombracco. You arrive at the little church "Le Grazie" and go straight on. Pass a little bridge and park. Walk along the steep road to reach the "casa colonica". From there you can reach all the sectors along well signed paths. Climate You can climb in any season. Height: 1000m. Rock and equipment Very solid Gneiss. Depending on the sector you can climb using all climbing techniques. Spit equipped. A rope 50/60 metres long is enough. Difficulties All difficulties |
