Near Portovenere there are some great walls, just near the sea. The sea environment is very suggestive, and you can combine a good climb with a cool swim. Points of vacation There are a lot of hotels in Portovenere and La Spezia. In Campiglia you can find a CAI hut (20 km from the walls) or a camping in Lerici (30 km). Free camping is strongly forbidden. | Access From La Spezia take the direction to Portovenere. Just before Le Grazie turn right up to Monte Castellana. After 5 km turn left and then right. The fort is a good base camp for all sectors. Climate You can climb any time but spring. Exposition: SOUTH-WEST. Rock and equipment Good (and smooth) limestone.
